Cane Creek DBAir CS Suspension

The domination of Rockshox and Fox on the suspension technology for mountain bike seems will be disturbed as the Cane Creek releases the new product of rear suspension with the name Cane Creek DBAir CS Shock, a 160mm rear suspension travel. This Cane Creek's suspension is believed can enter to the competition of suspension class, with Rockshox and Fox as the main competitors. As it said in their official page, this climbing shock will alter some dynamic responses, and it is regarded as one of the technology implemented in this shock. The DB - stands for Double Barrel - is for the climber, because the chassis offers good compression and control.
As the CS stands for Climb Switch, this shock uses simple turn to optimize the climbing performance. According to Josh Coaplen, the VP of Engineering Companya that said Cane Creek have been working for months and finally offered the special suspension. The Cane Creek claims that Climb Switch technology is different with lockout on the mostly suspension, even this is not a lockout. This is a technology to stabilize the suspension, in compression and extension mode, and one of the feature of this technology is to place the compression and rebounds in single switch.
Overall impression from this rear suspension is fair enough, but this can be alarm for the two main players in suspension technology to make some innovation. The twin tube technology, 4-way adjusment, and climb switch technology is the innovation offered by Cane Creek to disturb the domination of Rockshox and Fox. For this DB rear suspension series, it releases in several mode, the DB Coil, DB Air, and DB Air CS. The most interesting from this suspension is the design, which is very futuristic, but with only 509 grams, this is light enough for the double tubing suspension model.
