Polygon continues the improvement of their DH bikes, which is also become the main weapon for the Australian rider Mick Hannah, the Polygon Collosus DHX, and in the World Champ 2013 event, the brand reveals the prototype of the new bike that will be used by Hannah, and this will be Polygon's Mick Hannah DH Prototype. The  bike which is known also as "Pietermaritzburg Polygon", has several development and difference in frame style, and it looks simpler than before. About this, Mick Hannah says (taken from Pinkbike.com), "There are few guys up there on smaller bikes, but I feel like I can ride my proper downhill bike and feel as confident as I normally would on it, because it is pretty much my regular downhill bike. I mean it's light enough, fast enough, pedals really well, so I think this it's a really competitive bike here."

The Polygon's Mick Hannah DH Prototype, or Pietermaritzburg Polygon is using dual link suspension design, and based on Mick this is done well. But for the fans that also want to buy this bike, it may that the links, pivots, and shocks position is different with the bike that Polygon made special for. In other words, this DH prototype is completely custom for Mick Hannah. Another part with improvisation is the shock position, which the shock is placed different with Collosus DHX; this replacement actually to maximize the aggressive performance of the ramps, and this is also make the Polygon's Mick Hannah DH Prototype has different looks.

Almost all of this bike is custom, and special for Mick Hannah, including the drivetrain which is also seven speed XTR custom, because maybe the fans have never seen the XTR derailleur have short cage. Why this bike is using XTR not Saint? It is said that the custom XTR that Mick use is lighter than the Saint, and that is the reasonable reason. While another parts seem that Mick uses the part that he uses in the old Collosus DHX, like the Mavic Wheelset, Fox Fork and Shock, Hutchinson tires - of course, the team name is Hutchinson UR right?, Spank, Crank Brothers, and Formula disc brakes. Just wait for the performance of the Polygon's Mick Hannah DH Prototype that Mick shows to all fans around the world.
