LAPIERRE SPICY 2016
Eurobike 2015 just started and as predicted, there are many new things to see; prototypes, new bikes and parts. Lapierre, one of the big brands on mountain bikes world, releases their new bike which is one of their popular bike the Lapierre Spicy 2016. The Spicy 2016 model is looking different with previous version of Spicy, as Lapierre works hard to build the bike. The bike also adopt OST+ Suspension System which is used also in Lapierre Zesty 2016 that has been released previouly. This suspension system is using better pivot as Lapierre makes revision for the pivot.
Lapierre Spicy 2016 Highlights
• OST+ suspension system, revised pivot placements for an improved suspension curve
• Longer travel: 165mm rear travel and 160mm front
• Adapted geometry: slack, long and low. A longer reach and shorter seat tube. Shorter and wider cockpit, and slackened head angle.
• Longer Reach: S+18mm, M+16mm, L+20mm, XL +18mm
• Shorter ST: S and M -10mm, L and XL -20mm
• Cockpit: 45mm stem and 780mm bars
• Oversized pivot axles: increased stiffness, better reliability and easy maintenance
• Tyre clearance improved by 10mm.
• e:i Shock Auto compatible
• Hydration: more space has been added for a larger bottle
Lapierre says that Spicy 2016 version will be available in October with the price started from 3199-6999 Euro. The new Spicy is totally different than previous model of Spicy. The new Spicy 2016 is designed by Nicolas Vuilloz.
NEW GHOST BIKES
Ghost also releases some new models at Eurobike 2015 event; the first bike is like a big guy with the name Ghost PathRIOT. The "RIOT" name is a name that they use for their previous model, and the PathRIOT is a Riot with new updates. The PathRIOT will be available in two version, the PathRIOT 10 with € 6499 and PathRIOT 8 for € 4999. One of those models are using many high parts such as new Cane Creek Double Barel Coil with Climb Swicth combined with Fox suspension in the front.
Ghost also releases the new bike which is called Ghost ROAMR, though this model still a concept. One of interesting new thing in the new ROAMR is the Pinion gearbox drivetrain. This bike also put a dynamo on the front hub that be connected with a USB port. This dynamo maybe makes this bike will not so good on mountain as enduro or all mountain bike. But Ghost has anticipate this by creating a seat bag for this bike. So, it means that Ghost ROAMR will be ready for backpacking adventures to the deep forest and mountain.
CANYON STITCHED 720
After this bike is seen by Canyon riders Thomas Genon, Anton Thelander, and Peter Henke, Canyon is ready for mass production for new slopestyle Stitched 720. This is a classic bike that use 26 inch wheels and aluminum frame. Despite Canyon said that the Stitched 720 is ready for production, there is still no information about the price. And additional information, Canyon will build the Stitched 720 in single size only. (pic: pinkbike.com)
